Decidedly is innovative with insight. We help our clients answer complex business questions, fusing the latest tech with traditional methodologies to deliver award winning work. We’re pushing the boundaries of insight for our clients to help them drive growth. And we’re looking for a passionate qualitative insights professional who will inspire confidence in clients as we take them on that journey. You’ll be working closely with the team, helping them build out a new toolkit that fuses the best of traditional and newer, tech-enabled methods such as digital and mobile techniques and VR deliverables. 

 

We work with a broad set of A-list brands across a range of consumer sectors: FMCG, Retail, Automotive, Telco, Media, to name a few. Most of our work is for global brands – for our qualitative team, this can mean travel to oversee international fieldwork and participate in client workshops. You will be responsible for supporting on pitches and proposals, driving successful delivery of projects and ensuring that great work is delivered every time. Your focus will be to provide insightful, value-added consultancy to our clients that will see you quickly becoming a trusted adviser. 

 

Some recent projects include:

  • Using mobile self-ethnography, co-creation sessions, focus groups and quantitative validation to help a high street bank to understand and create new banking products for young British Muslims
  • Doing in home ethnographies and passive observation with seniors across the USA for the smart home technology provider
  • Helping on of the UKs largest coffee chains to understand how Chinese consumers view their brand to inform their brand strategy for that market
  • Supporting a video games publisher to develop characters and story line with fans from the UK and US for the next instalment of a much-loved narrative game franchise

Decidedly takes an end-to-end approach to working with clients so although you will be a qual specialist, you will need to be able to see the bigger picture and feed into quantitative stages and combined reporting. This role is hands on with research delivery, project and client management. Whilst you’ll need a passion for trying new things, experience, and enjoyment of, in-depth interviewing, focus group and client workshop moderation is key. You’ll also enjoy challenging thinking and won’t be afraid to harness new methods to find better ways of getting closer to consumer truths.

What we’re looking for... 

We are ultimately looking for somebody to grow this area of the business and to expand our innovative qual toolkit. You will need to be a qual insights professional with 7 years+ hands-on experience to join us at Senior Consultant level. You will be great at owning projects end to end and be an excellent moderator. You will have plenty of client facing and account development experience. You will be confident in front of even the most senior audience and will inspire clients to action. In this role, you will be expected to help push us forward and to train and upskill the team from the get-go. You will often be hands-on delivering our flagship projects but will also oversee others who will deliver on your behalf. Your role will include: account development, proposition development, project delivery, mentoring and management.

  • Strong, demonstrable experience of moderation across a range of qualitative methods.

Core Responsibilities

  • Understand and interpret clients’ needs, define business problems and decide on appropriate methodologies 
  • Producing proposals, costing projects, plan and participate in client pitches and project delivery
  • Design and develop / oversee plans to manage projects to time, budget and quality
  • Daily client liaison to update on progress and build strong working relationships
  • Supporting the more junior members of the qual team with on-the-job-training and development
  • Oversee a team of Consultants, Senior Associates, Associates and freelancers
  • Manage the analysis and storyboarding process to enable the project team to build sound insight, arguments and recommendations that will drive growth
  • Continue to develop better ways of accessing consumer truths
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, working collaboratively to deliver answers to their most difficult questions, building up a methodology from our own set of propositions
  • Sell further work through fantastic delivery that keeps clients coming back for more
